Camozzi Automation and Camozzi Digital: two enterprises united by the same vision aimed at continuous innovation, which comes to fruition in the conception and joint development of the latest generation solutions. A result of their synergistic ability to share know-how in the creation of pneumatic and electrical components and integration in smart systems.
SPS IPC Drives Italia 2019 is a prestigious opportunity for Camozzi to showcase its excellent results achieved thanks to this fruitful collaboration. The innovative cutting-edge machine ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) will be showcased at the stands: an automatic test station, designed by the company to test its solenoid valves, which represents a complete cyber-physical system including the most advanced Camozzi smart components for IIoT.
“This product, for the moment for internal use, is the result of our high experience in this sector, gained directly on the field over years of providing services and support to OEMs and end users for the development of complete solutions,” commented Lodovico Camozzi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Camozzi Group, who added: “This machine is a valid tool to directly “test” the effectiveness of our solutions in-house, with a view to continuous improvement. It is the significant proof that the Group is evolving from a component manufacturer to a supplier of increasingly integrated systems, capable of ‘giving a useful feedback’ to customers on data and information in order to constantly monitor the performance of their production processes.”
“One of our main strengths in the development of smart solutions with a view to Industry 4.0” - intervened Marco Camozzi - Managing Director of Camozzi Automation, “lies especially in our ability to transform information in real-time, through sophisticated proprietary algorithms, gathered from enabling technologies into detailed diagnostic reports. Using these reports, customers will be able to constantly monitor the performance of production processes, planning maintenance activities more effectively and efficiently and significantly reducing downtime and operating costs” - continued Marco Camozzi. “Every single figure collected through our systems, therefore, becomes the lifeblood used to implement the MES (Manufacturing Execution System), the computerised system that controls and manages the company’s production cycles and aspects, with a threefold objective: optimize the process and quality of Camozzi finished products, implement increasingly accurate and reliable calculation algorithms and give customers real added value in the digitisation of their internal processes.”
For the Camozzi Group, Camozzi Digital represents the solution provider of a customised MES, strongly integrated together with the machines, including the older ones (referred to as brownfield), which typically do not provide significant data for production control. The machine operators’ manual entries have been combined with proprietary modules for a direct connection to the machines (PLC / Scada) in order to provide more information and a complete view of production departments, resources and materials used, with close integration with the enterprise management system - or ERP.
Two demonstrations of this interconnection method between components, cloud and predictive diagnostics will be on display at the Camozzi stands, both thanks to the new ATE, whose operation is based on the use of the innovative software developed by Camozzi Digital, and through a live demo created with the support of a digital panel. Finally, a large portion of the exhibition area will be dedicated to Camozzi smart components: the Series DRCS full digital drive with integrated PLC function for Industry 4.0, the Series D Valve Island and the Series PRE Proportional Pressure Regulator. Both the latter are equipped with CoilVision technology, an advanced diagnostic system capable of highlighting not only blocking events, such as short circuits, overtemperature, overcurrent, etc. but also the general state of health of the component itself.
